Be careful, there's a bad ass monster in those woods that will destroy a low level character. He can sometimes glitch into the Grotto, so just watch out.

You can probably igni, run forward a bit, then igni the rest. Gourmet helps also, like the other fellow said. There is a high level monster that is in the forest above you. Many times, it teleports into the Grotto, so be prepared to mad dash the hell out of you get caught in that situation. As you will end up facing 2 monsters.
