Motts Military Museum is a hidden gem. We spent two hours there with over thirty 8th graders, but could easily have spent more time. It was so interesting. Exhibits were packed with items from the Revolution, the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, both WWI and WWII, Korea, Vietnam and much, much more.
Motts Military Museum has educational displays of artifacts like uniforms, weapons, military aircraft, tanks, boats and armored vehicles from past wars. The new Higgins Boat building is now complete. The Higgins boat is located in its final resting place. It has been a long journey for this WWII landing craft.Warren Motts has had a special relationship with NASA as can be seen in the display of Ellison Onizuka who died in the January 28, 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger explosion. Also available is the Apollo 13 flight plan, with a personal note to Warren Motts.
