As far as clothing, jewelry, armor, etc, some enchantments are “Constant Effect” or “Cast on Use”. Cast on Use are the most common. Personally I avoid the skill and just pay an enchanter. At that point I'm usually loaded with ultra expensive items. If you get an enchanter that's also a merchant and buy/sell something to him before paying for your ultra expensive enchanted item then you can just sell shit back to him and get all your septims back.
